Caledonia Private Capital announces new leadership

Caledonia Investments plc (“Caledonia”) today announces the appointment of Tom Leader as the new Head of Caledonia Private Capital, with effect from 7 July 2021.

Tom will succeed Duncan Johnson, who has decided to step down from his role after 10 years’ service. Duncan is taking up the position of Chief Executive at Northern Gritstone, a venture investment company founded by the universities of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

Tom is currently a Director and Head of Portfolio at Caledonia Private Capital and has been an instrumental part of the team since he joined the company in 2017. Tom has more than 25 years’ private equity experience, formerly working at Nova Capital Management, where he was Chief Investment Officer, Baring Private Equity Partners and Morgan Grenfell Private Equity. He also sits on the boards of The Liberation Group, Seven Investment Management and Bloom Engineering.
